What About Your Friends – Compatability
There is a poem that starts, “People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.” To that point, I have noticed a trend in recent years where an influx of people of a particular zodiac sign enter my life at the same time. As I reflected on this, I realized that I learned something important for personal growth from those signs, although it was multiple people, they all shared common personality traits that taught me something about myself and dealing with others. I started noticing this grouping in middle school, before I even knew what astrology or a birth sign was. I noticed that I had a lot of birthday parties to attend in March and April. From early on, Pisces and Aries were my closest friends and crushes. They are both creative signs and like to take action. We had fun together day dreaming, being silly, and devising plans and schemes to get what we wanted.
I am a Taurus, so I always have easy connections with other earth signs (Virgo and Capricorn) we all share a grounded, organized, and ambitious nature our similarities help us see eye to eye and connect. Earth Signs are my ride or die signs, we can get things done together and our strengths compliment each other. They are practical and thoughtful and I trust their advice and their direction. I also stay surrounded by lots of water (Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio) in friendships, family, and in romance. Again, these connections come easy, I am used to dealing with water signs and they provide emotional support and share the same desire for a care-free good time that most Taurus, including me, need. I always seem to have one good friend that is an Aries. Aries are the first sign of the zodiac and Taurus is the second. Both of our signs are strong-willed and driven; our drives and ambition match. My relationships with Aries can be described as trusted confidants; we can open-up and share with each other in a way that we rarely do with others. Neither one of our signs likes to be very vulnerable or put all of our cards on the table. What I have noticed with Aries is that our relationships are best when they are one-on-one. We tend to have a familiar connection with each other that our separate friends don’t get; we rarely share common circles of friends.
About a year after moving to New York I had an influx of Sagittarius enter into my life. This was so strange because previous to this the only Sag I really knew was my grandmother. I may have known a few but we never vibed, then all of a sudden I was surrounded by them. What I shared with them is an unadulterated love of a good time and a strong personality. I can have a good time with a Sag whether it is crazy partying, a low-key day at the museum, or having an enlighten, philosophical conversation. The learning opportunity was dealing with another strong-willed, stubborn personality that have the tendency to be detached. The detachment took some understanding on my part. In close relationships, I was used to giving others what they need from me where as Sags give others what they feel the person needs and without sacrificing who they are. Nonetheless, Sagittarius are genuine, good people.
In last year or so I’ve been experiencing the Libra invasion into my life; prior to this I knew not one Libra at all now, I see one every single day between work and friendships. Libra and Taurus are both ruled by the planet Venus because of this we share commonalities such as the need for relationships, affection, appreciation for good food, music, art and sensual sex. However, our approach to these things are very different. As a Taurus, I am upfront, blunt, and a little messy where as Libra prefers to be neat, thoughtful, and refined. Taurus is practical, well-planned, and reserved and Libra is impulsive, undecided, and craves attention. The list goes on but basically we are opposites with the same needs and interests. What I have learned from the Scales is to be more collaborative and tactical in my approach. Libra is all about being balanced and that is exactly what we do for each other, balance each other out. It’s not always easy but it is good.
So whose next? I think its going to be Gemini or Aquarius. I know a few people in these signs but I don’t typically hit it off with them; but recently, they are popping up more frequently. Can’t wait for the lesson I’m meant to learn from these signs.
Do you notice any themes like this in your relationships? Are there any signs that you know you will instantly hit it off with or have sworn off because they just don’t work in your life?
