New Moon in Pisces: Swim Up Stream
The February 26th solar eclipse/new moon in Pisces brings to a close the Pisces/Virgo eclipse season that began last spring. Since spring 2016 we have had 2 sets of eclipses (4 in total) in the Pisces/Virgo polarity. Virgo and Pisces are polar opposites, these signs have very similar underlying goals although, they may look very different on the surface. The shared goal of Pisces and Virgo is to be of service. Pisces attempts to achieve this on the emotional, sensing, and spiritual plane while Virgo is more practical, material, and analytical in its approach. When Pisces is of service, you feel it in your heart, it’s compassion and love. When Virgo serves, you experience it physically through routines, practices, and tactics that result in measurable improvements. The purpose of the Pisces/Virgo eclipse season was to heal, accept, and release yourself from old pain and karmic lessons while creating new mindsets and methods to support our success as we move forward. Looking back, the road to growth wasn’t easy as a matter of fact it was very emotional, as we were asked to dig into our past, touch old wounds, say good-bye to people who were important to us, and set-boundaries for ourselves and others.
The finale, a solar eclipse in Pisces will be deep, emotional, and have at least one interesting turn of events to help you swim upstream towards new and better things. During new moons, both the sun and the moon are in the same sign, they are basically sitting in each others lap so to speak. With the sun and moon in Pisces we all will be compelled to act and feel like the fish. The external vibe of the new moon will be soft, gentle, and loving. Everyone will be more prone to feel their way through situations while being kind, patient, and considerate. Pisces can be very optimistic but also pessimistic at the same time (remember the 2 fish swim in opposite directions). It will be very easy to get lost in illusions people paint for us, self-delusion, being overly optimistic, or having a big pity party. If the weight of your feelings or the world be becomes too much, don’t be surprised if you find yourself escaping from them. If something is unpleasant your first thought maybe to ignore the situation or create a diversion using day dreams or a good party to drink and dance it all away. The new moon will open your heart and your arms to anyone in need. By helping others, even in the smallest ways, you will also make yourself feel good. This is what the full moon will feel like on the surface. Lets move into the deeper waters.

What’s waiting below the surface of this solar eclipse? New moons are a powerful time to set goals for the future because during this time the universe is more receptive to receiving our petitions and aligning situations that help us to manifest. A Solar eclipse has even more power than a normal new moon; however, it opens doors in unexpected ways. During an eclipse the moon blocks the sun’s light, casting a shadow. Similarly, the actions we plan to initiate will be impacted by our emotions and unforeseen events that come out of the darkness. This will be amplified by the sun and moon being in the Pisces zodiac sign sitting very close to Pisces ruling planet Neptune, lord of underworld, escapism, hidden truth, and spiritual awakenings. Remember, the change energy of an eclipse last for 6 months. Things may not progress as you planned but they will progress as they should. Trust the universe.
In addition to some confusion and uncertainty, a difficult planetary alignment will make navigating the waters of this new moon/ solar eclipse even trickier. The T-Square is a harsh alignment between at least 3 planets; the planet that is the focal point controls how the energy of this mash-up is directed and how it will show up in our lives. In this case, Mars and Uranus have teamed-up and are squaring-up against Pluto( the focal point) on one side while Jupiter is giving Pluto major side-eye on the other side of the field.
Internally, you will mentally, emotionally, and even physically feel your head and your heart battling it out for the sake of personal evolution.
The square off between Pluto and Mars is what really makes this a nasty situation. Pluto is representing control, power, tradition, and how our fear motivates us to be overly controlling. Mars represents ambition, will-power, and assertion; right now mars is sitting in a place of power in the Aries zodiac sign. What does all this mean – expect power struggles that could turn into battles! On a personal level you are being asked to challenge old, traditional ways that are stagnating growth. Internally, you will mentally, emotionally, and even physically feel your head and your heart battling it out for the sake of personal evolution. Its time to challenge the status-quo one last time for this growth cycle. As your personal authority grows, the power of control from outside influences will be diminished. This could include family, bosses, groups you belong to, religion, banks, and even governmental authorities. Mars in Aries could have you literally fighting and pushing back as your need for individuality and self-regulation is paramount. Uranus’ part in this equation adds more uncertainty, more angry outburst, but also opportunity for breakthroughs and unexpected opportunities.

Jupiter in Libra is a positive influence in this though T-square situation. Although, somewhat weakened by retrograde, Jupiter can still help create some necessary balance. Libra is the sign of balance and harmony and with Jupiter under its control, it’s helping us attract money, love, and move into a more refined position in our endeavors. As Pluto and Aries motivates us to battle for stronger self authority, Jupiter helps us discern what from the past we should keep, restructure, or completely remove. In many ways, Jupiter in Libra is the mediator in this situation. Unfortunately, being in retrograde makes it harder for Libra to make a clear decision. This could show up as being overly concerned with not stepping on toes that you don’t make a decision or maybe feeling bad about making a strong decision that you over compensate to ease the situation and end-up neglecting your best interest. Remember that escaping so you don’t have to deal thing that I mentioned earlier, well this could definitely be one of those situations.
With Pluto playing an important role in this solar eclipse, control is the emotion that will be most prevalent. Who is in control, taking control, releasing control, new ways to control ect. This new moon brings to our consciousness the patterns, needs, and behaviors related to control and our fears. During this time you could finally bury the behaviors and though patterns you have been working hard to unlearn over the past year; those ideas and concepts that bind you to an older version of self. Over the next 6 months, we will start to see the breakthroughs and new self-concepts we are creating at this time take shape for the world to see.
