Spring time is the season of fresh starts and new beginnings so it’s no coincidence that we will experience two eclipse in March, just in time for spring. Eclipses occur in pairs and happen twice a year so that’s a total of 4 every year. What separates eclipses from regular full and new moons is that their energy is much stronger and has a deeper, long-lasting impact in our lives. Here’s what to expect for the March 2016 Eclipse Season.
Solar Eclipse on March 8th
On March 8th we will experience a solar eclipse in Pisces. A solar eclipse occurs during a new moon when the moon passes in front of the sun for a few moments creating a black out. A solar eclipse sparks vibrancy, a need to expressive our creativity, and the urge for a fresh start. Both the sun and moon will be in Pisces which will bring matters dealing with compassion, creativity, and healing to the light.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t think this will be an easy new moon/solar eclipse for everyone. Like I always say the deeper story is in the planetary aspects; the interactions and conversations the planets have amongst themselves. This new moon seems very focused on bringing up issues, hurts, or lessons from the past (both conscious and subconscious ones) not to be messy but so that they can finally be addressed and more importantly healed. Being one of the most compassionate signs of the zodiac, Pisces has a big heart and embraces everyone but when it comes to self it will avoid, overlook, and can sometimes be delusional in how it handles difficult issues. With that said, you may experience big creative spurts as well as foggy and unclear thinking around the solar eclipse.
In the spirit of new beginnings, it’s time to let go of old baggage, fears, and concepts that are holding you back and move towards a fresh start. Saturn, the planet of hard lessons and long-lasting structures is stepping up and connecting things from the past with current issues to show the need for serious action toward creating a brighter future.
Pisces is an emotional sign so expect both your thoughts and actions to be influenced by your emotions. However, the goal is not to get lost in them but to use them to push yourself forward upstream. Focus not on the difficulties or the unknown but what the success of taking a step in a new direction would look and feel like; how free and renewed you feel as you move closer to your best destiny. This new moon is a great time to seek outside resources. Talk to a professional, take a class, read spiritual or philosophical texts or take a trip to help with mastery or to gain a fresh perspective.
Lunar Eclipse in Libra on March 23rd
On March 23rd the full moon/lunar eclipse in Libra roles in and clears out anything that’s weak or not meant to last. Libra is the sign of balance and fairness with a focus on partnerships (love and business). During a lunar eclipse the moon passes behind the earth and into its shadow. The eclipse strengths the moon’s energy of release both emotionally and physically, clearing a way for new things to enter our lives. During this full moon the sun will be in Aries sitting across from the moon in Libra creating a need for balance between individuality and our role in our close, committed partnerships. Topics related to being fair and considerate of others without losing our sense of self or focus on personal goals move into the spotlight.
Eclipses have a very strong energy and only the strong survive; however, the kind and balanced energy of Libra also gives way to mending what’s broken. Money, love, and your personal identity are areas that will be most impacted by this eclipse. If you and your partner are on different pages but are at least in the same book the eclipse might provide an opportunity to repair things. If that’s the case, move forward in a new way (remember out with the old). Don’t be surprised if conversations about feelings, issues that may not have been addressed from the past, feeling valued, or expectations being met come up during this time. Since lunar eclipse clears a path for new beginnings the goal is to accept the removal, restructuring, or release of concepts, behaviors, systems, jobs or even people during eclipse season. Trust that something better is coming soon.
